Introduction

How many planets do we have? What are three facts from each planet? Today we will learn three interesting facts about each planet.
 

Task

Students will read as a class the chapter for the planets in our science textbook. Students will note at least three facts from each planet. Students will need to create a poster with the planet’s name and a mind map with each planet's three facts.

 

Process

  1. Students will read the planets chapter from the science textbook as a class.

  2. Each student will create a multimedia poster using www.smore.com that will include all nine planet’s names

  3. Students will create a mind map using www.mindmeister.com to list three interesting facts for each planet.

  4. Students will need to upload complete assignments to the project file and present them to the class on the due date.


Evaluation

2 points for participation in reading the planet chapter

2 points for making notes while reading

2 points for creating a multimedia poster including the name of the planets and a video.

2 points for creating a mind map including at least three important facts for each planet.

2 points for uploading the two assignments to the project file on the due date.

2 points for presenting the two projects to the class.

 

Conclusion

Hooray! Now you can not only identify the planets but also some interesting facts about them. It is important to learn important facts from other planets besides earth. We can keep a close eye on the new articles about NASA so we can keep ourselves updated on new information about what is going on in our solar system.
